Soteri is a clothing brand possessed of an expressive impulse and exclusive, timeless elegance. Rooted in tradition and innovation, and inspired by the aromas of the earth, our classic business casual and formalwear is a harmony of integrity, function and exquisite sensibility. Our goal is simple: to offer fashionable and long-lasting garments that make men and women look beautiful and fill them with confidence and a sense of renewal.
Located in Tbilisi, the Soteri fashion design and production house was founded in 2022 by creatives Sophia Andghuladze and Ian Carver out of a shared passion for preserving and transmitting the art and invaluable authenticity of tailoring. We achieve this by offering exquisite ready-to-wear clothing, bespoke tailoring and custom services from concept design through production.
Soteri’s team features expert designers, tailors and cutters led by our master tailor Ludmila, Sophia’s mother. A true artisan of the craft, Ludmila first put thread to needle as a child in her family’s home atelier. She went on to acquire decades of experience in international fashion houses, giving her extensive mastery of the French, Italian and British ‘schools’ of traditional tailoring. For Ludmila, tailoring is an almost surgically operation, one she lovingly infuses with precision and passion.
What we call “truth in tailoring” comes from our devotion to the highest quality craftmanship, a standard achieved through balancing strictly handmade techniques with highly skilled machine operations. Soteri’s clothing is designed and made entirely in Georgia. In everything we produce, we remain true to the authenticity of the tailoring craft, the individualism of our customers, and the requirements of future generations.
Our Steps
2022
The Soteri brand was founded soon after its two founders’ paths crossed during the summer. The team started out in a compact, single-window atelier resembling an attic, with just a few sewing machines and tools. But their limited means were more than compensated by a passion for the tailoring craft and the goal of creating beautiful and functional garments that stay in people’s hearts.
2023
A unique opportunity arose at the onset of 2023 that could not be missed. Swift, bold action resulted in the establishment of Soteri’s new fashion design and production house that our friends and clients have come to love. The move into the larger workspace was complemented by an expansion of our technical design expertise, and by year’s end, we had locally identified the talent that would comprise a tightly knit art and media department.
2024
Building on more than a year of successful design and production work, 2024 has opened with fresh ideas, partnerships and plans with educational institutions, media agencies, commercial entities and new and returning individual clients looking to express a confident look.
